David Hughes

David Hughes brings over 20 years of executive financial leadership and strategic consulting expertise to the CFO Simplified team. Before joining our stellar outfit, he served as CFO for a $25 million plastics manufacturing company in Chicago. Some of David’s other impressive career accomplishments include his former position as Vice President for a Chicago-based consulting firm, where he brought results to many billion-dollar companies including: Signet Jewelers, Pacer Logistics, and Denver’s RTD (transit authority). Earlier on in his career, he gained valuable experience working internationally as a financial controller for Van Leer Packaging in the Netherlands, where he managed a capital budget of $300 million.

Working within this diverse range of industries has helped David become a proven leader in financial analysis and accounting strategy and made him a seasoned pro when it comes to capital planning, financing / banking, strategic operational planning and execution. Business savviness aside, our clients will appreciate that David is an excellent communicator and a positive business ally to every executive team he works with.

David lives in Chicago with his two children. He enjoys all sports, but especially loves watching his daughter’s volleyball matches. David is happy to spend much of his free time with his kids at his five-acre woods in NW Indiana.
